About HelloCare

“Every life has a story.
Our work is to help seniors keep living theirs, at home, with dignity, and care that you can count on.”

Helen Anderson, Founder of HelloCare

Caregivers

The strength of HelloCare comes from the people who provide the care.

Skills definitely help, and the training matters, yet none of it really comes together unless the person who walks through the door has a deep love for the work they do.

That has always been our starting point.

Every member of our team, from our caregivers and care management to our office team and Oregon-grown nurse ownership, is here for the same reason: to make a senior’s day a little easier. A little safer. And sometimes, even a little more fun.

You can’t teach it. You can only build around it, and that’s exactly what we do.

Helen Anderson

Founder, Registered Nurse, Educator

HelloCare began with a simple thought from our founder, RN Helen Anderson.

Helen grew up in McMinnville, Oregon and started her nursing career in 2005. She’s cared for her own grandparents and parents, neighbors, and the folks around town she grew up with. She heard the same worry again and again:

“I want to stay home, but I don’t know if I can.”

Back then, the options were slim. Seniors who needed more help than family could give often had to leave the place they loved or hire a national brand run by investors. Helen believed Oregon families deserved a better choice, one grounded in skill, respect, and the kind of care people talk about long after the shift ends.

She built HelloCare around that belief.

Even with expansions into Marion, Polk, Washington, Clackamas, and now Multnomah Counties, today, Helen and Kristy—a partner she met while they were both nurses in a post-acute setting— still train our team, still meet families where they are, and still lead with the same simple promise:

To help seniors live their best lives at home with exceptional care that doesn’t cut corners.

  • We’re telling you this for a simple reason: choosing care for someone you love is hard. It shouldn’t be made harder by unclear answers, pressure, or empty claims.

We want you to know who we are before we ever step through your door.

If you need help, if you’re unsure what comes next, or if you just want someone to talk it through with you, we’re here.

When a family calls, it’s usually because something has happened.
An accident. A progression in a chronic condition. When a daughter notices their elder parent is struggling.

So we come to their home. We sit at the table. And we listen and look for ways to help.

Our Care Managers look at what’s going well and what has gotten a little harder. We walk through the home, take note of tools and devices, talk through medications and routines, and learn what “a good day” looks like for the person we’re here to help.

From there, our team builds a Care Plan with nurse oversight. This isn’t a stack of tasks, but a map for supporting the senior’s physical, emotional, and daily needs in ways that feel natural and respectful. The Care Plan changes as the person changes. It’s meant to grow.

Families can see each day’s notes, updates, and progress through our online Family Portal. It’s clear, simple, and open. The way care should be.
